I just wanted to extend my deep appreciation for the manner in which Doug has been teaching the Install and Planning classes. He is truly a professional with a passion for what he’s teaching. Doug is able to explain concepts from an academic and practical perspective citing real life examples which make understanding concepts a whole lot easier.

The lecture is never dry as Doug brings in humour into what would otherwise be a long a trying day. He is truly as asset to BCOSSA!

I would like to provide a review of my experience with Mr Rowse who led the SOILs’ course at Kamloops from October 01-03 2024.

John Rowse expertly provided a geographical account of the formation of soils, soil structure + classification, soil treatment of effluent, the critical need to correctly classify soil at a customer’s premise, and how to address soil requirements if there was this necessity. We went out to a gravel pit where permeameter tests were shown first hand and percolation tests discussed. At class Mr Rowse demonstrated the JAR TEST and how to interpret the reading / analysis after 24-hours. We were further shown how to test soil with water and determine it’s classification.

It was an amazing 3-days spent with Mr Rowse who went above and beyond the course syllabus by sharing first hand experience of what reality is on the ground and also fundamental mistakes to avoid. All students thoroughly enjoyed Mr Rowe’s style of teaching and it was sad to part ways – there was just so much of information being shared.

Please, could you share this review with senior management of BCOSSA of the deep appreciation we have for Mr Rowse who is certainly flying the flag of BCOSSA very high – we look forward to additional engagement with Mr Rowse for he is truly a legend in the Waste Water field!
